Professor of the department, corresponding member of ANAS Ibrahim Jafarov wrote textbooks and study guides for students, graduate students, doctoral students, as well as for the teachers and specialists in the field of agronomy and agrochemistry, as well as biology at other universities.

Dozens of his scientific articles have been published in prestigious international journals abroad.

The department conducts research in 6 areas "Implementation of technological measures to increase the productivity of field crops in the western region and ensure the production of organic products."

- The study of technological measures that increase the productivity of autumn triticale and ensure the production of organic products in grain farms in the western region.
- The study of technological measures to improve the productivity and quality of sugar beets in the western region.
- The study of agrobiological features of new regionalized varieties and hybrids of corn in Azerbaijan.
- Development of measures to control pests of plants belonging to the family Solanaceae in the Ganja-Gazakh region.
