The Faculty of Agronomy of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ADAU) held an event titled "We fought for the Motherland, we returned with Victory!" dedicated to the fifth anniversary of November 8 - Victory Day.
The event, which began with the playing of the National Anthem, commemorated the dear memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs with a minute of silence.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, the head of the Social Studies Department, Elgun Aslanov, emphasized that the historic Victory achieved in the Patriotic War was possible thanks to the leadership of President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the unity of our people, and the heroism of our Army. He emphasized that the unity and fighting spirit of our people played a decisive role in this Victory and noted that such events contribute to the further strengthening of patriotic feelings among young people.
In his speech, the head of the Department for Organizing Work with the Patriotic War Participants and Martyr Families of the Ganja City Executive Power Head's Office, a participant in the April Battles, the 44-Day Patriotic War, the "Qisas" and Anti-Terrorist Operations, and a reserve Major Mahir Huseynov spoke about his combat path and frontline memories, and spoke about the sacrifice of soldiers and officers, the unity of our people, and the importance of passing these values on to future generations.
Abdurrahman Kazimov, associate professor of the Department of Social Sciences, and Kamil Mamishov, director of the Main Library of ADAU, noted in their speeches that during the 44-day Patriotic War, the Azerbaijani people, under the leadership of President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, restored historical justice and won a great Victory that became a symbol of our national pride and unity.
