A series of events dedicated to March 8 – International Women’s Day were held at Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU).
At the event held in the university’s Administrative Building, the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was first honored, and then the National Anthem was performed.
Speaking at the event, the Rector of the University, Zafar Gurbanov, emphasized the important role of women in the development of society and the progress of science and education. It was noted that Azerbaijani women have historically made valuable contributions to the country’s socio-political and social life through their dedication, knowledge, and hard work. It was also highlighted that female staff members and students of the university actively participate in scientific and educational activities and contribute significantly to the development of the university through their achievements.
The event continued with a literary and artistic composition prepared by students.
Later, a festival dedicated to International Women’s Day was held in the Agronomy and Zooengineering academic building of the university.
During the festival, female employees of the university competed in the categories of “Weaving,” “Salad Preparation,” and “Painting.”
At the end of the event, certificates were awarded to the winners.
An event dedicated to International Women’s Day was also organized at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Speeches were delivered about the role of women in society and their dedication. Poems and songs were performed, and flowers and gifts were presented to the faculty members and students.
