An event dedicated to “September 27 - Memorial Day” was held at the Faculty of Agronomy of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ADAU).
First, the National Anthem was played at the event, and then the dear memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence.
The head of the Social Sciences Department, Elgun Aslanov, who made the speech, said that 5 years have passed since the day our glorious Victory history began to be written - the 44-day Patriotic War. It was on September 27, 2020, that the counter-offensive operations that began in response to the enemy's next provocations by order of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev turned into a sacred Patriotic War for the freedom of our lands. The Patriotic War is our glorious history, martyrs and veterans are our source of pride.
Our soldiers and officers, who showed heroism in the struggle for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our Republic, our civilians working in the rear, and our people as a whole demonstrated determination and will, unity and solidarity like a fist, and dealt crushing blows to the enemy.
In their speeches, employees of the Department of Social Sciences Abdurahman Kazimov, Zumrud Gahramanova, and Turana Asadova emphasized that the dear memories of our martyrs who lost their lives while protecting territorial integrity and liberating our ancestral lands from enemy occupation are always held high by our state, and that our brave Army, under the leadership of President and Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, achieved a historic Victory by liberating our lands that had been under occupation for 30 years in the 44-day Patriotic War.
It was noted that September 27 is a glorious date when the foundation of the Great Victory, which is a celebration of our military-political power, national spirit, and national solidarity, was laid.
