The program is organized by the Sub-Union of Plant Breeders (BISAB), operating under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye. It is considered a mandatory and officially recognized training course for specialists aiming to work in the field of plant breeding and seed production.
As part of the training, the master’s student receives both theoretical and practical knowledge in various areas, including:
- Breeding and cultivation of vegetable and fruit crops (such as tomato, cucumber, eggplant, pepper, melon, grape, etc.),
- Selection of disease-resistant varieties,
- Development of new cultivars,
- Production of hybrid seeds,
- Hybridization with wild plant forms, and
- Creation of ecologically sustainable plant varieties.
The BISAB certificate awarded at the conclusion of the course grants the legal right to engage in official plant breeding and seed sales within the territory of Türkiye.
It is noteworthy that Murad Karimzade is the first Azerbaijani student to participate in and fully complete this program. This achievement represents a significant step in ADAU’s efforts to train internationally recognized specialists.
