
Later, the departments working under different names ("Fruit growing", "Vegetable growing", "Gardening", "Fruit growing and vegetable growing", "Viticulture", " Technology of storage and processing of viticulture and crop products") were led by associate professors M. Ismailov, A.I. Zeynalov, professors I. Pavlov, D. Beketovsky, M. Khavrenko, D. Khadzhiev, P. Bolgarev, J. Aliev, Sh. Aliyev, Z. Hasanov, associate professors G. Atakishiev, A. Isgandarov, D. Gasimov, F. Sharifov, T. Tanriverdiev, G. Huseynov.
The department conducts research in 3 areas: fruit, vegetable growing and viticulture.
The department has established relations with the relevant departments of universities in Russia, Turkey, Poland, Slovenia, Italy and the United States, within the ERASMUS + and Mevlana programs employees of the department has implemented international grant projects (Glimmer and Nizami), as well as projects of the Science Development Foundation.
The department establishes relations with most regions of the country, conducts trainings for farmers and entrepreneurs in relevant fields, provides advice, exchanges experience with research institutes, invites industry leaders to the department, organizes master classes for scientists and specialists to improve the quality of teaching and research.
To conduct the educational process, together with the production practice, there are organised visits to advanced farms, contacts are made with graduates of the magistracy and undergraduate students who work in modern greenhouses and gardens, they are invited to the department, exchange experiences on the effective organization of student internships.
Currently, the department is headed by Allahverdi Seyidov.
The teaching staff of the department consists of 13 people: (1 doctor of sciences, professor, 10 doctors of philosophy, associate professor, 2 assistants).
