The conference on "Application of scientific and educational-productive tendency in the development of priority branches of production in horticulture and the way from theory to practice" was held at the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ADAU) with the joint organization of the Research Institute of Horticulture and Tea growing, the Research Institute of Viticulture and Wine growing and the Research Institute of Vegetable growing of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Addressing the conference, the rector of ADAU, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Ibrahim Jafarov told about the history of fruit and vegetable growing in our country, current situation and state support rendered in this area and noted that ADAU and research institutes should jointly support the work carried out in this area.

Presentations were made by the director of Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture and Tea-growing, associate professor Ilham Garagurbanli on "Modern gardening in the world: achievements, problems and perspectives", the director of Scientific Research Institute of Viticulture and Wine Making Vugar Salimov on " The current potential and perspective development of viticulture", the chairman of the Public Legal Entity Board of the Research Institute of Vegetable Growing, Dr. Elmar Allakhverdiyev on "Main directions and innovative technologies in the field of horticulture and viticulture, the employee of the Department of Horticulture of ADAU, professor Zaur Hasanov on "Innovative approaches to the development of citrus fruit growing”.

At the end, the participants answered questions.

The conference continued in sections in the afternoon.
